US WW1 Mounted M1910 Water Bottle Set Original Long 1917
Original WW1 Mounted M1910 canteen carrier and water bottle used but good condition.
This is the mounted or cavalry version of the canteen set. The difference between a standard and this one is the hanging method. Instead of a belt hanger on the back the mounted one has canvas loops on the base and sides which hold a leather strap. The leather strap has a buckle on the top. A metal clip is attached to the leather strap so the canteen set could hang from a saddle.
The carrier is marked in the inside of the flap Long 1917
The carrier has a couple of stains and there are two holes on the outer cotton so you you can see the layer of insulation on the inside, one on the back and one on the front.
The leather strap shows wear but is solid. Includes the metal clip, the tip of the spring clip has snapped off.
Includes a cantten but no mug.
