This is the standard HBT (Herringbone Twill) peak cap with a 2" peak and in the darker shade of green colour.
In WW2 the US Army issued the HBT green uniform in two shades of green a lighter green tone and this the darker green tone colour. This darker green colour is officially called OD 7 (Olive Drab shade No 7).
This darker green HBT was introduced in March 1943 and was issued in time for the D-Day landings in Normandy.
