Fixed Bale U shaped Bale for WW2 M1 Helmets
Metal "U" shaped M1 helmet bale, these help turn your M1 helmet into an early war version.
The first American M1 helmets where designed and manufactured with a fixed bale, later in the war (late 1943) they changed over to a moveable or "swivel" bale because the swivel bales were less likely to break.
This pair of "U" shaped or fixed bales replace the swivel bales on an M1 helmet, you will need to remove the swivel bales on the M1 helmet then spot weld these U shaped bales on in their place. You can then sew your chinstrap onto your "Fixed" bale M1 helmet.
The U shaped bales are unpainted and flattened on the ends ready to fix onto your helmet.
