US WW2 M9-A1 rifle grenade AT.
Every US Infantry rifle squad was normally issued with a rifle grenade which was generally fitted onto a Garand rifle. One Garand was usually fitted with a rifle grenade sight and a launcher which could fitted onto the end of the barrel quickly when required to use a rifle grenade.
This inert replica of the M9-A1 AT rifle grenade features:
- One piece plastic construction.
- Painted green.
- Correct markings on the side reading "Grenade AT H.E. M9-A1 Lot GR 2.17. 5-42"
- Bottom part of the base of the body of the tube is hollow.
This is a plastic replica which has been hand painted to give a good finishing touch.

The M9-A1 was the standard high explosive anti tank rifle grenade which was made from sheet metal and consisted of a shaped charge with a base detonating fuse and it could penetrate over 2" of armour. It was very successful against various targets.
The M9-A1 rifle grenade was initially painted yellow then in 1943 they where painted green.
