American WW2 hand axe and carrier.
Issued to infantry, including paratroopers and armoured troops, it was carried on the pack or belt. The replica hand axe has a wooden handle and a metal head, the head is stamped US SEMs 1942. The carrier is made by Kay Canvas and has the buckle and strap closure with the standard belt hooks on the back, so it can be fitted to the belts or the doughboy pack.
The pouch is part of the high quality reproductions by Kay Canvas. The cotton canvas is a bit heavier and sturdier than the standard replicas and it is made in the WW2 OD#3 colour which is normally called tan or khaki.
