WW2 USMC 3rd pattern canteen (water bottle) cover.
This model with the cross over flaps is often refered to as the "Dog eared" pattern. The 3rd pattern water bottle carrier was made with and without a drainage hole in the bottom, this replca does not have the drain hole in the bottom.
Premium quality webbing pouch, these are made by Kay Canvas using the best fabrics. The metal is brass not steel and the cotton canvas webbing has the correct weight and weave of the originals for a high quality pouch. These are as good as originals, they just do not have that old musty smell to them.
Made in the correct WW2 colour of OD#3 which is a tan/khaki colour.
