M51 Field Jacket. US M1951 Combat Jacket Medium Long Original
The American M1951 Field Jacket was the predecessor to the very popular M65 jacket.
The M1951 would have been issued in the Korean war and was still being used in the Vietnam war.
The design is a mix of the WW2 M1943 and the later M69 combat jacket, making for a distinctive look to those who the difference between an M65 and an M51.
This is an original M51 field jacket with the removable liner. The jacket is a size Medium Long and the liner is a large.

The US M51 Field jacket features:
- Brass zip up front.
- Press stud closed pockets.
- Shoulder epaulets are fastened by buttons.
- Cuffs have adjustable tabs which are secured by buttons.
- Draw cord around the waist, which can be worn on the inside or outside.
- Draw cord on bottom hem.
- 100% cotton.
The M51 jackt is in very good condition and the size label says Medium Long Height 5' 11" and up. Chest 37 up to 41" and up"
The main lable is also present which has the name "Jacket shell field M-1951 and the instructions of wearing it. The label above this one which has the manufacturer details is too washed out to read easily.
Price is for the M51 jacket and the removable liner, both items are original.
The liner is worn in places, but the jacket is in great condition.
In the top pocket is a packet of vintage 7-11 matches and the unit badge which was taken off the jacket at some time, you can just see the traces of the shape of the patch on the shoulder.
