British Army Trench Whistle and Lanyard
British military pattern whistle and lanyard used throughout the early 20th century. It wide uses included being issued for used by officers in the Great War trenches to ARP wardens in during WW2.

The whistle lanyard attached to the loop on the end of the trench whistle which was tucked into the officers top pocket ready to blow for action, the other end of the lanyard looped around the shoulder strap so not to loose it.
