US Gold Star Lapel Badge Original

The gold star has been used since WW1, this version was passed by an Act of Congress in 1946.
This small lapel pin has a brooch fitting on the back. The front has a gold star in the middle of a purple background which is surrounded by laurel leaves. The back has the following text "United States of America, Act of Congress, 1 August 1947".
Each badge comes in its own plain box. These are old vintage badges that we purchased a few years ago from a military surplus store in the USA. In the pictures you will see the outer box that these came in (outer box for reference only and is not included).
