US M3 knife Made by Utica Marked on Blade With M8 Scabbard Original.
Genuine WW2 M3 knife.
This is the early version with the maker mark being stamped into the blade.
The blade is marked " U.S. M3 - UTICA". The stamping is clear.
Knife is in used condition and shows use, the blade has a bit of staining which gives it a nice patina. The cross guard is loose possibly due to some shrinkage to the leather washers. On the top of the pommel there is the flaming bomb logo stamped into it, this is the military Ordnance acceptance inspection stamp. A couple of dents/chips around the edge of the pommel.
The M8 scabbard is marked on the front of the metal throat guard with "US M8 B.M. co" So it is the first pattern scabbard but it has been modified later with a belt hanger being stitched into the top of the belt loop.
