US Vietnam 1st Pattern Trousers by Mil-Tec
Replica first pattern tropical jungle trousers.
The first pattern uniform was worn in the early part of the Vietnam war and is normally associated with the special forces and other forces involved in the advisory part of the war. By the time the bulk of the US troops had arrived in Vietnam at the height of the war the standard US uniform was the 3rd pattern tropical uniform which was an improved version of the first pattern which had many design changes.
The first pattern has several distinctive looking differences to the standard 3rd pattern tropical uniform the main ones being the exposed buttons (on the 3rd pattern all buttons are covered by flaps to prevent the buttons getting caught on the under growth) and the fabric cotton poplin not rip-stop.
Reproduction 1st pattern tropical jungle trousers features:
- Cotton poplin (plain cotton, not rip-stop cotton).
- Exposed buttons on all pockets.
- Button closed fly.
- Waist tabs to adjust the size.
- Two front slash pockets.
- Two rear seat pockets, button closed.
- Two large cargo leg pockets button closed.
- One small pocket in the inside of the left cargo leg pocket.
- Leg ties, these are fixed in the cargo leg pockets and come out of holes in the side of the pocket.
