US Vietnam M56 M16A1 Ammo Pouch for 20 rd Magazines New
US M1956 M16A1 Ammunition pouch designed for the M16 20 round magazines.
Introduced after the standard M56 ammunition pouch, the standard pouch was taller and called a universal ammuntion pouch as it was designed to carry various different types of ammunition.
This shorter magazine pouch was designed especially for the short 20 round M16A1 magazines, unlike the universal ammunition pouch the short pouch was made for only a short period of time before being made in nylon as part of the M67 nylon webbing. So the original pouches are quite desirable and more scarce than the standard universal ammunition pouches.
Holds 4 x 20rd magazines for the M16A1.
Features;
- Standard US metal belt keepers on the back to clip onto most webbing belts.
- Full flap closure.
- Straps on the side to secure hand grenades.
- Strap on the back with metal clip on the end to attach to the suspenders.
- Drainage hole in the bottom of the pouch.
- Green cotton.
