US WW1 Mounted M1910 Water bottle Set Original Bauer Bros Mfg Co 3-1918
Original WW1 Mounted M1910 water bottle and cup with canvas cover used but good condition.
This is the mounted or cavalry version of the canteen set. The difference between a standard and this one is the hanging method. Instead of a belt hanger on the back the mounted one has canvas loops on the base and sides which hold a leather strap. The leather strap has a buckle on the top. A metal clip is attached to the leather strap so the canteen set could hang from a saddle.
The carrier is marked in the inside of the flap Brauer Bros Mfg Co 3-1918.
The carrier has a couple of stains and there are two holes where the material has worn away on the sides of the flaps.
The leather strap shows wear and has some surface cracks but is still flexible. The metal clip is not included.
The canteen and mug are made by L.F & C 1918.
