The compact K ration was the result of a request by the Airborne troops in 1941 to replace the heavier C ration cans. The new combat ration was name after the man in charge "Doctor Ancel Keys".
The K ration was standardized in November 1942 for general issue. A set of three boxes, one for each meal was issued per day. These boxes are the 1944 design so are correct for D-Day and they include the inner and outer boxes.
Price is for a complete set of three rations and include in the inner and outer boxes.
