US WW2 M1936 Field Pack M36 Rubberised Musette Bag Tan by Kay Canvas

Rubberised M1936 Musette field pack, issued to the US Army in WW2.

Officially called "Bag, Canvas, Field, M1936" 

The rubberised versions of these bag are often associated to the American Airborne, but they where issued to any soldier in WW2.

Premium quality webbing bag with a rubberised finish to it, these are made by Kay Canvas.

Same design as the standard M36 Musette bag but these are made with a waterproof rubberised material. Similar fabric to the rubberised raincoats made by Kay Canvas. The bags do not have a taping on the seams so it is not 100% waterproof. 

Field bag which was issued to US officers and other troops where the standard M1928 haversack was not suitable such as airborne and armoured troops.

The M1936 Musette bag was either clipped onto the back of the M1936 suspenders and worn as a rucksack or worn as a shoulder bag if the extra M1936 shoulder strap was used.

Main compartment is closed by two straps with metal buckles and has a divider inside to keep everything organised, the divider has two slots/pockets sewn into it. There is also a webbing loop on the inside.

Small pocket on the side and a large back pocket both closed by a metal button.

Two adjustable straps to clip onto either the shoulder strap or suspenders (shoulder strap and suspenders not included).

Two D rings on the bottom of the pack.

Made in a light colour of OD#3 which is a light tan/khaki colour. These are more tan in colour compare to other OD#3 webbing.
