Nurse's handbag officially called a Utility bag.
This is the rectangular brown leather handbag with shoulder strap, on the inside there is a middle divider, coin pocket and a mirror pocket.
Initially worn suspended off the left shoulder then in November 1943 a new regulation stated it should be worn across the body so the strap rested on the right shoulder and the bag sat by the left hip.
If the strap was not used it was tucked under the left arm.
