This is a hand embroidered U.S.A.A.F. squadron patch for the 418th Bomber Squadron which was part the famous 100th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force.
During WW2 the 100th Bomb group was based in England and was often referred to as the bloody 100th.
This is the large patch which would have been stitched onto the left breast of the A2 leather jackets, M41 jackets or other flying jackets and is often called a pocket patch.
The unit served in Europe in World War Two.
