WW2 USAAF Type A-3 Cap, this practical, stylish and comfortable cap was issued to air force mechanics but was also worn by some air crew.
It was officially called "Cap, Mechanic's, summer, Type A-3".
The cap is made of 6 panels of HBT material (Herringbone Twill cotton) and features a large peak to shield the face from the sun, the peak could be rolled so it pointed up which gives it a really distinctive look. The cap also has the army air force ink stamp logo on the side.
