These badges were worn on Lt Schaffer Officers wool field tunic underneath his winter parka which he removed to go in the bierkeller and then again once he had gained access to the Castle.

- Silver Infantry Assault badge awarded for 5 separate combat engagements (lower left pocket)
- Silver Merit Cross with swords given to soldiers for exceptional service in battle above and beyond the call of duty (centre left pocket)
- Army Officers bullion breast eagle (above right pocket)
- Gebirgasger officer bullion collar tabs
- Leutnant Gebirgasger shoulder boards
