British Army Overcoat 1909 pattern Single Breasted Wool Greatcoat
This model was first issued to the British army in 1909 and was used throughout the Great War in the trenches of France and Flanders to keep warm while on sentry duty. After WW1 it then continued to be used and still by the BEF in 1939/40 at Dunkirk which you can see many soldiers still wearing in original picture. During WW2 it was mainly then by home guard etc.
