Exact replica made in the correct lightweight twill woven wool.
The scarf was decided on at the WAAC uniform planning conference on the third of June 1942, where it was decided due to the wool shortage not to issue a thick wool green scarf.
A lightweight blended wool-rayon scarf in a twill weave was decided to be the best option.
The Women's scarf was made in a beige colour to contrast with the darker olive wool uniform of the ETO uniform like the Ike tunic.
The scarf has a chequer board pattern from the twill weave. The scarf measures approximately 27 x 91cm.
The Army regulation for wearing the women's scarf was to have it crossed over in a fold and tucked inside the front uniform opening, it was never to be tied.
