WW2 USAAF B6 Leather Flying Helmet by Kay Canvas

USAAF B-6 leather flying helmet by Kay Canvas.

Officially called Helmet, Flying, Winter, Type B-6. it is made from soft leather with a nice textured look to it. The B-6 can be identified from the previous B-5 helmet by the addition of 5 metal hooks around the helmet which are attached by a square piece of leather. The hooks are designed to hold the A-8A, A-9 and the A-10 masks. The B-6 helmet was issued from December 1941 onwards. 

Original war time B-6 helmets can be found with various modifications like ear pads to hold receivers, press studs so later model masks could be attached etc. This replica is made to the original specifications.

The B-6 leather flying helmet by Kay Canvas features:

• Soft dark brown leather exterior with a lighter brown seams.

• 3 leather loops to hold the goggle straps the side straps have press stud closures.
